UIL Texas Bi-District Round 1 Basketball Playoff 4A-6A Results

The road to the state championship officially began this week as the UIL Texas Boys Basketball Bi-District playoffs tipped off across the state. From 4A to 6A, the opening round delivered high-octane offense, defensive masterclasses, and a few nail-biting finishes.

Here are the top scores and most notable matchups from the opening round.

6A: Heavyweights Hold Steady

The 6A brackets saw several perennial powers flex their muscles, while a few lower seeds pushed favorites to the brink.

Conference 6A Division 1

  • Offensive Explosion: Steele put on a clinic, putting up 80 points in their win over United (44). Seven Lakes followed suit with an 80-66 victory over Alief Taylor.

  • The Powerhouses: Duncanville looked every bit the title contender, cruising past Temple 74-38. Meanwhile, North Crowley handled Bell 68-50.

  • Close Calls: In one of the most competitive games of the round, South Grand Prairie edged out Richardson 42-39 in a defensive grind. Sachse also survived a scare, winning a one-point thriller against Rockwall, 58-57.

Conference 6A Division 2

  • Dominant Performance: Little Elm made a loud statement with a 77-46 win over McKinney, and Grand Oaks matched that energy by taking down Dekaney 77-52.

  • The Upset Alert: Crowley pulled off a massive narrow victory, stunning Southlake Carroll 64-62 to advance.

  • Strong Openings: Dallas Jesuit took care of business against Bowie with a 71-49 win, while San Angelo Central outlasted Coronado 73-66 in a high-scoring affair.

5A: Drama and Dominance

The 5A playoffs featured some of the highest-scoring games of the week and several matchups decided in the final minutes.

Conference 5A Division 1

  • Offensive Fireworks: Mansfield Timberview looked unstoppable in an 81-52 win over Paschal, and Randle mirrored that success with an 82-50 victory over Spring Woods.

  • Down to the Wire: Boerne-Champion survived by the slimmest of margins, defeating Leander 44-43. Crosby also escaped with a one-point win, 59-58, over Huntsville.

  • Solid Advances: Heritage took down Highland Park 80-62, and West Mesquite dominated Molina 76-36.

Conference 5A Division 2

  • Statement Win: Seguin put the bracket on notice by hanging 94 points on Wyatt (38). Anna also showed off their offensive depth in an 87-55 win over Marshall.

  • Heartbreakers: Andress edged out Bel Air 59-58 in a cross-town rivalry battle. Ellison also held off a late charge from Crandall to win 69-65.

  • Other Scores: McAllen notched a big 81-62 win over Edcouch-Elsa, and Harlingen South cruised past Pioneer 65-38.

4A: Blowouts and Battles

In 4A, the story of the bi-district round was the sheer dominance of the top seeds, including several 40+ point victories.

Conference 4A Division 1

  • The Big Winners: West Plains dominated Andrews with an 83-37 victory. Washington also crossed the 90-point mark in a 91-65 win over Hargrave.

  • The Shutout Defense: Davenport put on a masterclass, defeating Lago Vista 82-44, while Brazosport took down Calhoun 80-43.

  • Competitive Matchup: Seminole survived a tough test from Canyon, winning 62-58 in a battle of West Texas powers.

Conference 4A Division 2

  • The 100-Point Club: Panther Creek delivered the most eye-popping score of the entire playoffs, defeating Hampton Prep 119-18. Yates also joined the triple-digit club with a 110-73 win over Hamshire-Fannett.

  • Big Margins: La Marque cruised to a 93-24 win over Ingleside, and Stafford dominated Giddings 83-30.

  • Toughest Fight: Brock pulled away in a high-scoring battle against Estacado, winning 80-72.
