The playoff run for the Frisco Memorial Warriors came to a painful end in the fourth round Friday night, as the Lovejoy Leopards pulled off a 74–64 victory to advance to the state semifinals.

Memorial entered the matchup riding strong momentum, but Lovejoy delivered its best performance of the postseason when the stakes were highest. The Leopards’ offense caught fire at key moments, allowing them to build separation and ultimately secure the 10-point win.

The game remained competitive for much of the night, with both teams trading runs and battling for control. Memorial showed resilience throughout the contest and stayed within striking distance, but Lovejoy consistently answered every push from the Warriors with timely scoring.

A major factor in the outcome was Lovejoy’s perimeter shooting. The Leopards knocked down several three-pointers during key stretches of the game, giving them momentum and forcing Memorial to chase the score late in the second half.

Memorial entered the matchup on a nine-game winning streak and had built one of the most impressive postseason runs in the region. However, the loss snapped that streak and ended a season that saw the Warriors finish with a strong 29-8 record.

For Lovejoy, the victory marked a historic moment for the program, as the Leopards secured their first trip to the state semifinals. The team also extended its winning streak to 12 games with the victory, continuing one of the hottest runs in Texas high school basketball.

Despite the heartbreaking ending, Memorial’s playoff run showcased a team capable of competing with the best in the state. The Warriors battled through a difficult playoff path and came within one win of reaching the state tournament, highlighting a season filled with big performances and memorable moments.
