Frisco ISD soccer is doing what it does every spring, showing up in bulk when the bracket drops. Fifteen of the district's 24 varsity soccer programs qualified for the UIL playoffs this year, and the action starts tonight with games running through Friday.

GIRLS BI-DISTRICT

Centennial vs. Lone Star — A battle that doesn't get more local. Two FISD programs open the girls bracket tonight in an all-district showdown at Kuykendall Stadium in Frisco. Kickoff is 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Panther Creek vs. Sunnyvale — The Lady Panthers make the trip out to Farmersville for a 4A matchup at Farmer Stadium. Also 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Lebanon Trail vs. Reedy — Two of FISD's stronger girls programs collide in another intra-district showdown Friday night at Kuykendall. Kickoff is 7 p.m.

Memorial vs. Wakeland — Wakeland's girls program has been one of the most decorated in Texas over the past decade, and Memorial comes in hungry to pull the upset. Friday at 5:30 p.m. at Independence High School.

Heritage vs. Highland Park — The Lady Coyotes head out of district to face Highland Park at Eagle-Mustang Stadium in Richardson. Friday at 5:30 p.m.

BOYS BI-DISTRICT

Panther Creek vs. Mabank — The Panthers open boys playoff action late Thursday night at Hanby Stadium in Mesquite. Kickoff is 8 p.m.

Heritage vs. Reedy — The Coyotes host the Rangers in a Friday night clash that should be electric. Kickoff is 6:30 p.m. at Heritage High School.

Memorial vs. Wakeland — Both the boys programs follow the girls earlier in the evening at Independence High School. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Liberty vs. Highland Park — The Redhawks head to Kimbrough Stadium in Plano for a 6 p.m. Friday matchup.

Emerson vs. R.L. Turner — Emerson closes out Friday's slate at Kimbrough Stadium with an 8 p.m. kickoff.

The Big Picture

FISD soccer’s success reflects years of investment in a soccer culture that now runs through essentially every high school in the district. From established powerhouses like Wakeland to programs still writing their playoff stories, the depth across FISD is genuinely unlike anything else in North Texas.

Thursday's games get things rolling, but Friday is when things really heat up — four boys games and three girls games all on the same evening, including back-to-back FISD matchups at both Independence and Kimbrough Stadium.

One and done or on to the next round - either way, this weekend is required viewing for Frisco soccer fans.
